Happy Canada Day...

Eh?

Yep. We really say eh, eh. Some more than others. And yes, it really does have different inflections that mean completely different things. You'd have to be Canadian to get it, eh?

We also add a 'u' to words like colour, honour and labour. more

Lainey's Biography

Like the many stories that languish--or sometimes flourish--on her computer, Lainey Bancroft is a work in progress. Over the years she has worked as a cocktail waitress in Ontario, a flower bulb inspector in Holland, a chambermaid and bar tender in the beautiful Canadian Rockies, and a garden center clerk in London England.

Currently, Lainey works at home, doing the scheduling and bookwork for her husband's business, and hangs out in her jammies more often than she cares to admit. She is  gearing up for the release of two new contemporary romances and a romantic suspense that won a place in the Liquid Silver Books, Worth Every Risk Anthology, and polishing a women's fiction novel she plans to agent-shop. She likes to indulge her muse by writing stories that range from serious to sensuous to silly. She enjoys writing almost anything really-except perhaps about herself in third person.

In addition to reading and writing, Lainey is an avid gardener, and enjoys spending time in Ontario's four season playground with her husband, teen aged son and daughter, and their two spoiled labs. Her greatest joy in this writers journey is meeting other authors and avid readers. She is in the process of compiling a FAQ's section, so don't hesitate to contact her with any questions or comments you may have. She'll answer--fictionally or maybe even honestly if it doesn't create marital discord or legal problems!

Yucks and Yums

20 Points, just so you have some idea of whom you are visiting. The likes and dislikes, or yuck and yum as I prefer to think of them.

  1. Yum - Traveling with the family-planes, trains, automobiles, and we've developed a passion for cruising. Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum, the island life!
  2. Yuck - Opera singing. Eew makes the hair on the back of my neck dance, and not in a happy way.
  3. Yum - Genuine smiles. Rare and beautiful.
  4. Yum - Cold beer and hot pizza-lobster, fillet and rich red wine.
  5. Yuck - Facial piercing.
  6. Yum - Gardening. Plant it, water it, weed it, feed it, and absolutely stop to enjoy it.
  7. Yuck - Liars, especially those who lie to themselves.
  8. Yum - Tasteful tattoos on biceps that deserve them.
  9. Yum - Biceps that deserve tasteful tattoos. ;0)
  10. Yuck - Bullies-Blowhards-Bigots-Bigmouths.
  11. Yum - Thunderstorms.
  12. Yuck - Technology. Aside from a keyboard, if it has more than one button, it baffles me. Not a bad thing really, if I knew how to work our collection of converters, I might watch too much TV.
  13. Yum - Good neighbours. As rare and special as genuine smiles.
  14. Yuck - Cold wind and wet snow.
  15. Yum - Candlelight-Firelight-Sunlight.
  16. Yum - Big hairy dogs, little cuddly cats and four legged, furry critters in general.
  17. Yum - Belly laughs.
  18. Yum - Weddings, reunions, anniversary parties, birthday parties or any excuse to party and celebrate family and friends.
  19. Yum - Good books. Good movies. Good music.
  20. Yum - Bare feet.
