And also why I adore
Robin Bielman
.
Robin is a warm and wonderful person who frequently reminds me of small but mighty messages, such as the one that follows.
I need a puppy class refresher because lately, I am way too good at forgetting...at sweating the small stuff...at just being a rabid dog, in general.
Lucy...where are you, baby? Mama needs some help with her homework.

If Dogs Were Our Teachers
You would learn stuff like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up an opportunity to go for a joy ride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising.
Run, romp and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout, run back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you’re not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

Re: Why I Should Go to Puppy School
I adore you too!! Love the picture, Lainey. Lucy and my Harry would adore each other too. Although at the moment, Harry isn't very happy with me. He had a little, ahem, surgery yesterday and now has one of those lovely cones on his head so he doesn't, ahem, lick the area. I had no idea a dog could mope - it's killing me!

Re: Why I Should Go to Puppy School
I try to apply dog logic to life. Some days you just want to bite

Smooches, Robin!
Harry will be his old self--well, almost :0--in no time.
Such a shame we can't get them together for a play date. I'm thinking there would be book potential. How does: WHEN HARRY MET LUCY sound to you? ;-)

I hear ya, Jeff...
Bite, scratch, snarl, howl...lift your leg. Yeah, I'm applying ALL the wrong parts of dog logic. :/
